History of Our Agency
Ron and Barbara Byers founded Western Illinois Home Health Care in 1981. At that time, there was no
home care available in their rural community. They proudly opened their office in Monmouth, Illinois in July of 1981 with
a staff of under five.
Western Illinois Home Health Care provides third party reimbursed services (Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran's Administration,
Private Insurance Companies) to people in their home setting. The Byers felt the need, early on, to expand and offer additional
services that may be needed to help people remain in their homes. A sister agency, Western Illinois Managed Home
Services, was established in Galesburg, Illinois to provide care to clients in all age groups and offer expanded hours of
service with up to 24-hour coverage in a home if needed.
Since opening in 1981, Western Illinois Home Health Care and Western Illinois Managed Home Services have grown to their present
size of over 80 employees. Ron and Barbara have made a commitment to their staff and to the community they serve. The agency
mission statement and vision statement shown below summarize that commitment.

Directions To Our Monmouth Office:
We are located along the Monmouth bypass (US-67 / US-34). At the intersection of US-67 / US-34 and Main Street, head south on Main Street.
The first road south of the intersection is Industrial Park Road. Turn right onto Industrial Park Road. We are the first building on the North side of the road.
